I’m a playwright from Texas.
My play THE SPORTS PAGE had its world premiere at Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2012. The critics called it “crisp, realistic” and “sharply comedic… a theatrical touchdown.” THE SPORTS PAGE won the 2010 Texas Playwriting Competition and was a winner in the 2011 Panndora Productions New Play Festival.
My play PREACHEROSITY had its world premiere in London in 2006 at the Jermyn Street Theater, where critics called it “a feast of a script” and “an absolute gem.”
My plays have been developed in London at the Soho Theatre and the Tristan Bates Theatre, and in New York at the Algonquin Hotel and the Morningstar Pentecostal Chapel. I was chosen for the 2011 Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive and I was a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the 2010 Sewanee Writers’ Conference.
I received a B.A. in Journalism from Baylor University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University, where I worked with the great and amazing Tim O’Brien. I’m a co-founder of Times Square Playwrights in New York City and a member of the Playwrights’ Center and the Dramatists Guild. I live in Texas. When I’m not writing plays I’m watching baseball.
